Year 9 pupil Star is celebrating after reaching the finals of this year’s BMC Youth Climbing Series. 

The series is a climbing competition for young people. Extremely popular, it attracts hundreds of young climbers nationwide every year. To make it to finals, Star competed over four regional rounds, two roped and two boulder. Over the four qualifying rounds she came 4th, 2nd, 2nd and 1st. This puts her in 2nd place overall for the Midlands Division, an amazing achievement.

The Grand Final held in Southampton at the end of this month is a two-day, invite only event for the top three competitors from each category and each region, and Star will again be required to compete in boulder and roped rounds.

We have watched Star hone her skills over the past five years and shall continue to follow her climbing career as it develops. We wish her the very best of luck for the finals and look forward to hearing how she gets on!
