Summer Term Beckons

Preparatory

21 April 2023

The Prep School girls, from Nursery to Year 6, were very happy to be back at school in the spring sunshine of the first day and keen to share news of their holiday exploits.  We have heard about holidays away, visits, learning new skills and spending time with family.  The ‘EHS’ daffodil gardens were very pleased to see the girls back too, as they danced in the sun.

The term has started with much activity already as Year 6 make final preparations ahead of their musical production of Peter Pan next week and girls settle back into their studies.

All girls in Years 1 – 6 have also been challenged, from day 1 of term to become a part of The Royally Big Portrait record breaking art project.  They have been asked to produce an individual pen portrait of King Charles which will then be included by artist, Sam Barnett, in a giant combined portrait of His Majesty as part of the coronation celebrations.  The girls are also looking forward to other activities to celebrate this historical occasion.

At this special time for many of our school community girls in Kindergarten have been focusing on Ramadan and Eid.  They have done some themed writing, made Eid cards and created lanterns and hampers.  They have also spent time considering what they have to be grateful for and have added them to their gratitude tree.

There is much to look forward to in the term ahead with residential and day trips, workshops, House galas, Sports Days for all, events for parents to share and of course new areas of study.  We know the girls have returned energised to enjoy the opportunities on offer and we look forward to reporting on these as the weeks progress.
