Need a good book to curl up with? Look no further than these Top Book Picks from your very own school librarian! Whether you’re looking for something fresh and new or seeking out a classic, there should be something in this for everyone. The best part is they’re all available in the school library!

Relish: My Life in the Kitchen - by Lucy Kinsey - Food / Real Life (suitable for all ages)

Lucy Kinsey loves food. The daughter of a chef and a gourmet, this talented young cartoonist comes by her obsession honestly. In her forthright, thoughtful, and funny memoir, Lucy traces key episodes in her life thus far, framed by what she was eating at the time and lessons learned about food, cooking, and life. Each chapter is bookended with an illustrated recipe, many of them treasured family dishes, and a few of them Lucy's original inventions.

Miss Lee’s Comments: Anyone who adores food will enjoy reading this graphic novel. There are even some recipes you can replicate with ease and they taste delicious!

Geekerella – by Ashley Poston – Romance / Nerd Culture (Suitable for all ages)

Part romance, part love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom. Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic sci-fi series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball, and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck (and her dad’s old costume), Elle’s determined to win…unless her stepsisters get there first.

Miss Lee’s Comments: A retelling of Cinderella but with a geeky twist. Turns out it was a good concept! You’ll love the main character Elle and her adorable romance at the convention.

Sasha’s Secret – by Cathy Cassidy – Friends / Family (Suitable for all ages)

Sasha has a huge secret which could jeopardise the bright future of the Lost and Found band.

Sasha seems to have it all. She's the lead singer of an amazing band, she's starting to get famous online and it seems like the coolest boy in school might have a crush on her. Nobody could imagine that Sasha has a huge secret that is growing too big to hide.

The band hasn't noticed that her struggles with anxiety are overwhelming her, but when a world-famous rock-star invites the band to record music at his country mansion, and when Sasha starts having blackouts, she has a feeling that she won't be able to keep it secret much longer...

Miss Lee’s Comments: The latest title from the Lost and Found series by Cath Cassidy. Get ready for drama when you start to become popular. Sasha is a great character to follow along with her journey of anxious fame, seeing as she was more of a side character in the previous books!
