Let's get physical!

Senior School | Sixth Form

27 March 2020

As everyone, pupils and teachers alike, adapts to online learning, the PE department have been encouraging EHS to take regular breaks from their work and participate in some physical activity.

In their PE lessons, Senior School girls have been logging on to view their work and they have been set fitness challenges in Year 8 that they are logging, a swimming project in Year 7, and Years 10 and 11 have been set HIIT training sessions or yoga sessions to complete.

The PE department have been using their social media accounts (Twitter and Instagram) to highlight additional workouts that pupils and the EHS community could take part in. The department have all enjoyed doing the daily #PEwithJoe workout and we would recommend this 30 minute workout that streams live on youtube at 9am every morning.  It is a great way to wake up and start the day, releasing endorphins that will make you feel happier and more alert for the rest of the day. These workouts that are designed and led by Joe Wicks, ‘The Body Coach’ are suitable for all ages to participate in (young and old) and we hope that pupils who do these workouts every day will start to share photos with us.

The department are also setting weekly workout videos to complete as well as alternative sports to try from the comfort of your home. Remember to follow the PE department on Twitter and Instagram to keep up to date with daily fun activities that everyone can participate in!

More family-friendly fun: download the Snakes and Ladders game sheet - suitable for the whole family!
