Isabel's Role as Youth Ambassador

Senior School

10 February 2023

National Student Volunteering Week (6 - 12 February) is an opportunity to shine a light on the amazing young people making a difference in our communities. Year 13 student and Assistant Lifesaving Instructor Isabel is one such individual and this month features on the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) website as part of her Youth Ambassador role. Here, she explains what the position means to her and how she is contributing to the vital work of the RLSS.

“I applied to be an RLSS UK Youth Ambassador in June 2022 and got the news that I was part of the team in August, a role which lasts for a three year term.

“I was delighted to attend an induction weekend with the new team at the RLSS HQ in Worcester. As a group of eight, we set out some initial aims which include increasing the UK course accessibility and increasing youth event engagement within RLSS UK, as well as growing the RLSS UK’s social media platforms. I have been allocated to my local branch, Warwickshire, where I volunteer with various events and recently attended the Coventry Baby and Toddler Show.

“So far, this role has opened up so many great experiences for me and I look forward to continuing my passion for lifesaving into university.”
