Guitarists galore

EHS girls from Prep and Senior departments were a credit to the school when they competed in the Leamington Spa Competitive Music Festival with Craig Ogden (Classic FM star and head of Guitar at RNCM) adjudicating the guitar section of the competition.

EHS had prize winners in every single category of the competition that the girls took part in. Craig Ogden commented on the high standard of the students at EHS and Miss Larner was proud of all the girls who took part.

2019 Leamington Spa Competitive Music Festival Results:
Solo Preliminary - Grade 1 – Doris Rigby Cup
1st Place: Samara Fayeye
2nd Place: Freya Boocock

Solo Grade 2-3 The Preston Memorial Challenge Cup
1st Place: Isabel Dyche
3rd Place: Sophia Islam Choudhury

Large Ensemble (5+ players)
1st Place: EHS Prep Guitar Ensemble

Karen Knott Cup for best Junior Ensemble
Winner: EHS Prep Guitar Ensemble

Recital Class – Colleen Billington Cup
1st Place: Nisha Ark

Regondi Cup - awarded to the most promising performer in Initial to Grade 8 classes
Winner - Samara Fayeye

Charter Trustees Trophy - awarded to the most promising performer in the festival
Winner - Nisha Ark
