Year 6 Shine Bright

Preparatory

22 September 2023

In Year 6 all girls are given a post of responsibility for the year. These were announced last week and the girls have begun to carry out their various duties. We are delighted that Charlotte, Emily and Jessie will take up the roles of Head Girl and Deputy Head Girls this year, as elected by their peer group.  They have shared that they are really looking forward to representing the Prep School, meeting visitors, undertaking jobs in school and, of course, to raising the traditional three cheers at the end of each term.

Our team of Prefects have also started carrying out their responsibilities as has Amaris who is fully involved as our Assembly Monitor. She particularly enjoyed her first sharing of best birthday wishes for the week in our Celebration Assembly.

The librarians have a range of new initiatives to introduce and have begun the year well by leading ‘International Talk Like a Pirate Day’ on Tuesday. In assembly they shared a wide range of books on the theme of pirates suitable for all ages of girls in the Prep School. They also read some of these books to our younger pupils in Years 1 and 2 in the reading session after lunch.  We know that their enthusiasm will inspire all girls to want to read more.

We will introduce other posts over the next few weeks and are looking forward to working with all of the girls. We know they will do well at helping the Prep School to run smoothly.
