EHS supports Bham City Mission Toy Link

Senior School | Sixth Form

06 December 2019

Every Christmas, Birmingham City Mission gives gifts to thousands of children in our city, many of whom would otherwise not receive any Christmas presents. Thanks to the generosity of Birmingham’s people the BCM Christmas toy distribution to families in need has been running successfully for 50 years.

EHS have been supporting this charity for the last two years and the City Mission have been so very grateful for the gifts donated by EHS pupils and staff. Last year a group of Year 10 pupils, supported by Miss O’Hare and Mr Wiggins, attended the mission and helped wrap gifts. Having visited this charity and seen first-hand the good that the organisation does, the pupils held a special assembly to stress the importance and the need of some of the local residents in a bid to encourage pupils to donate.

This plea, matched with the kindness and generosity of the EHs community, has seen even more toy donations come flooding into EHS. On Friday 6 December, Year 10 pupils will again be visiting the mission and delivering the EHS donations.

The donations this year have been fantastic! We have received an EHS record-breaking number of gifts and we thank everyone who has kindly donated. The gifts really will make a huge difference to a child’s Christmas this year, with EHS proving there is no greater gift than the gift of kindness!
