Artefacts workshop brings Ancient Rome to life
26 October 2018
The Classics department recently had the pleasure of welcoming Leanne O’Boyle, Cultural and Visitor Development Manager from the City of London corporation.
Leanne gave an assembly about her career and the girls were inspired by her message to follow their passions in life.
Leanne then led workshops for Latin students in Years 8 -11. She spoke to the girls about her job and her main project of overseeing the Roman Baths in the City of London. Leanne also brought Roman artefacts with her for the girls to handle, including a Roman bracelet, a wax tablet and some coins. The girls were fascinated by the artefacts and it was evident they enjoyed handling the 2,000 year old objects, with some inspired to find out more about careers in archaeology.
We extend our thanks to Leanne for joining us and look forward to welcoming her back again in the future.
