Celebrating National Poetry Day

During today’s assembly, we celebrated National Poetry Day with a wonderful performance from Lujayn Ismail, the EHS Poet Laureate, who read out a poem that had inspired her ('Being A Bird' by Eman Awad'), and another of her own creation called 'Unspoken Truths' (see below).
We were then privileged to have a performance delivered via a pre-recorded video from Casey Bailey, the current Birmingham Poet Laureate, in which he performed a poem called 'I Choose Birmingham'.
Lujayn ended the assembly by unveiling an exciting new half-termly event, in which she aims to have a poetry live performance, in which all students in the Senior School will be invited, either as performer or audience member and there will be further details of this in due course.
