Careers assembly focuses on Digital Intelligence

Senior School | Sixth Form

25 October 2019

The school was delighted to welcome Tamara from Deep Mind, a subsidiary of Google, to talk to the students about digital intelligence, her career after graduating with a degree in Computer Science and her current role as a software engineer in our first careers assembly of the academic year.

Tamara explained the history of digital intelligence and the role of women in a historically male-dominated industry. She had plenty of advice to offer regarding how to get started on this career path and the importance of work experience. This was followed later in the day by an informal Q and A session to enable students to have further discussions about the role and future of artificial intelligence, and the benefits of working in this industry. It was an informative talk and the students were given a valuable insight into a dynamic and growing industry.

We are always keen to provide our students with information and advice on a broad spectrum of career pathways. If any parents would be willing to contribute to our careers programme through giving a talk or offering work experience please get in touch by email to the school in the first instance: enquiries@edgbastonhigh.co.uk
