Clever cake craft from Year 9 bakers

Year 9 girls were tasked with designing and creating a wonderful ‘naked cake’ for the summer cake competition. This involved decorating the cake using only natural ingredients such as fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers.
Girls got creative with their designs, produced high quality sponges and used a great range of skills when decorating the cakes. The results were achieved in a very limited time and were outstanding. The photos show just a ‘flavour’ of the entries from the 40 participants.
Congratulations to all, and especially to Madeline Vernon who gained first place, Aizah Oppal, second place and Caitlin Kisumba, third place.
