Year 10 RS students Grill-a Christian!
11 July 2025
For their penultimate lesson of the academic year, one of the Year 10 Religious Studies groups had the privilege of being joined by Rev Sam Gibson, vicar of St George’s Church.
For the full double lesson they students showed the full extent of their intellectual curiosity and enthusiastic engagement with all aspects of their studies as they grilled him with their questions.
Questions reflected the diverse nature of the course and included:
-
Is there a moral difference between killing someone and letting them die?
-
Do you believe that scientific theories and religious concepts can coexist?
-
If all humans are created in the image of God, why is there so much inequality in the world?
-
What happens to people from other faiths when they die?
-
Why does God allow suffering?
-
Could God create another God?!
Rev Sam Gibson responded to all the questions to the best of his ability. Students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to put their questions to a faith representative, and it brought much of our studies this year to life.
