With the arrival of the sunny weather our youngest girls in Nursery and Kindergarten have focused their studies on the topic of Summer.

Nursery pupils went for a walk around the campus to look for signs of summer.  They were also the photographers and used the ipads to record their discoveries.  To refine their fine motor skills they traced seasonal patterns and practised cutting in straight and curved lines.  There was also time to blow some bubbles in the lovely warm air.
In Kindergarten they talked about the change of season and the things they might see and do.  They have completed a range of summer themed postcard writing and number addition activities, including how to keep safe in the sun.  They created some delicious paper plate ice creams and helped teddy pack for his summer holidays.

They had to decide what he should take and what he should leave at home.  Hopefully this will help them to make their decisions more easily as they pack for their own holidays.

Reception girls are continuing with their Literacy and Numeracy work right up until the end of term!  They always enjoy learning new Tricky Words from the Jolly Phonics scheme taught in school.  In Mathematics lessons, girls have learnt to add on two more and three more using ladybirds and different shoe sizes to help them.

As ladybirds were the theme in Reception, the pupils made their own 3D bugs out of clay, which look amazing displayed in the classroom.   The Discovery Den was a huge hit too and the girls came away with many items they had discovered 'Under the Sea!'.
