This Week in Westbourne

The girls have returned very pleased to see each other and their teachers. This was evident from the cheerful smiles shared on the first morning of the Summer Term. We also welcomed a number of new girls to Westbourne who all enjoyed their first day and who we know will enjoy the adventures ahead of them.
The girls have been busy already with discussions of Eid and other family celebrations that have taken place. In Kindergarten they made cards and lanterns and have written about things they are grateful for which will be added to the gratitude tree.
They also have much to look forward to in the term ahead with trips and workshops planned and invitations for parents to join us for a number of activities. There is also Sports Day later in the term for all girls in Westbourne to enjoy.
There is much excitement in Kindergarten this week as the girls are looking forward to their swimming lessons starting next week. This is a first for Kindergarten to have a term of swimming and a welcome addition to our regular curriculum. They will certainly be well prepared for their swimming lessons in Reception which will start soon in the Autumn Term.
These swimming lessons further extend the physical development provision on offer to Westbourne pupils which this year has included ‘balanceability’ in addition to specialist PE teaching and use of Prep Hall for gym.
We look forward to watching the girls flourish in their learning and personal development.
