Success for Cross Country Girls

Following the news that our swimmers had qualified for the ESSA finals in Sheffield in June our cross country runners headed for Hallfield School last Friday for the annual Invitation Cross Country Race.
The beautiful spring weather gave perfect conditions for the race and the girls were very excited to run against so many other schools.
This year we entered a team in both age groups with a Year 3 & 4 team and a Year 5 & 6 Team. Each team comprised six girls competing, with the first four finishers to score.
The race distances were 1.2km for the Year 3 & 4 team and 2.4km for the Year 5 & 6 team.
The girls ran very well in their races and then enjoyed the remaining races whilst they waited for the final results. We are delighted that the U9 team of Year 3 and 4 girls came in first place and that Darcey was awarded third place in the Year 5 and 6 race.
Well done to all of our runners who worked well as a team.
