Bowled Over by Isabel

Senior School

17 September 2021

Warwickshire County Cricket player and EHS student, Isabel Curry, has had a fantastic summer of cricket. Earlier this year Isabel was selected for the Junior Emerging Player Programme; a prestigious, holistic-based programme which forms part of the talent pathway. This has enabled Isabel to develop her game physically, tactically and technically, through opportunities such as match play and training camps.

Isabel’s hard work and dedication has also been recognised by her coaches where she has recently been awarded the ‘Coaches’ Player of the Season’ award for the Warwickshire Bears First Team, Under 15 age group, an excellent achievement given the fierce competition provided by her team-mates.

In addition to the awards received, Isabel was also asked to represent Warwickshire Ladies Under 18's First Team and the Warwickshire Ladies League Select 11 against the MCC. This is a great accolade for Isabel, showing that her talents have been noticed by coaches outside of her own age group. In the match against the MCC, Isabel scored the winning runs as Warwickshire beat the MCC in the final overs. Such opportunity have given Isabel valuable experience, not only batting against ex-England bowlers but also putting her bowling skills to the test, picking up two wickets in the process (one of which was the ex-England World cup winner and occasional captain - Claire Taylor MBE!)

Isabel Curry will most definitely be one to look out for at Edgbaston Cricket ground in the future!
