Pupils Take Up the Inktober Challenge

Senior School

22 October 2021

This October once again students participated in Inktober, a month long daily art challenge that is focused on improving skill and developing positive drawing habits. Every day for the month of October anyone participating in the Inktober challenge creates an ink drawing prompted by an annual Word List.

THe Inktober Prompt Word List was displayed in the library for all students to access and Each day brought a new word to prompt students into drawing whatever comes to mind. There have been simple words such as ‘fan’ where many drew the usual air fan, while some students had doodled crazed rock star fans!

There were prizes to be earned, however, in an Inktober first, the library ran out of prizes two days before the half term break! We are pleased to say that this year the initiative has drawn the highest number of participants we have ever had.

There are still two grand prize winners to be declared and winners in the following categories will be announced after the half term break:

•    The student who submitted the most drawings (with a tie being decided by the quality of drawings submitted)
•    The best drawing (determined by votes from Art Department)

A big thank you to anyone who participated and submitted a drawing for Inktober; it has been fantastic seeing all of the imaginative and witty creations and we look forward to the return of Inktober next year!
