We were pleased to see the Year 6 Netball Squad back on Monday from their tour to Portsmouth and to hear their news. They clearly had a good time meeting up with the girls from St John’s College once again. They also enjoyed the trip to the Spinnaker Tower, shopping and bowling. The netball practice clearly paid off too as on Monday evening they won their match against Our Lady of Fatima School.

It is clear that other girls also had a busy weekend, preparing for their LAMDA examinations which have taken place this week over three days. Girls from Years 2 to 6 have been involved and we can now look forward to the results.

Monday saw a bumper Celebration Assembly with presentation of certificates for cross country, Young Musician Competition, KS1 Well Done, Independent Learning, Headteacher’s Certificate and many individual trophies and awards. We are very proud of all of the girls’ achievements.

Another great piece of news this week was that our team of Year 6 girls who had entered the Aspire to Engineer Genetic Engineering Competition has won first prize.  We will report further when we have more details. Huge congratulations, girls!

Girls in Westbourne have been active too. The Reception pupils have taken advantage of the lovely sunshine and visited the Botanical Gardens to look for signs of spring. They have also enjoyed extending their number skills too, with some addition sums.

Friday sees the qualifying rounds of the English Schools Swimming Association relays and we wish our team of girls good luck. If they qualify for the finals, they will have a trip to Sheffield in the summer to look forward to. Good luck also to our Year 5 netballers who will play in their first tournament at Bromsgrove at the weekend.
We look forward to welcoming Year 5 parents to the Cranedale meeting on Wednesday and 3K parents to the class assembly on Friday.  We are also all eagerly awaiting Prep Party on Friday evening.
