October sports report
17 November 2017
Building on some early successes in September, our Netball and Hockey teams have continued to make great gains. The U18 and U12 netball teams both won their respective opening Saturday match of the season against Newcastle Under Lyme School. Lexi Byrne (Year 7) and Louisa Maynard (Year 11) were named Player of the Match of their respective age groups. The U18 Netball Team finished a respectable third place in their Birmingham Schools Netball Tournament, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the regional round of the competition.
Meanwhile in the swimming pool, our swimmers took part in their first gala of 2017-18 at Malvern College. The swimmers narrowly missed out on the next round of the competition despite achieving some very quick times.
October Sporting Star
This month’s sporting star award goes to Year 11 student Harine Nemal for her recent selection into the Centre for Advanced Dance Training at the DanceXchange in Birmingham.
Harine has been selected for the Yuva Gati Programme where she will learn Bharatanatyam, a classical South Asian Dance form as part of this programme. Well done, Harine!
