Next Generation Awards - Senior Pupils Champion our City

Pupils in Year 9 recently presented on their experience taking part in the Next Generation Awards in summer 2023.
This scheme from Birmingham Civic Society recognises and celebrates the efforts of school children in supporting their local communities. Participants were tasked in coming up with an initiative to improve the city in some way and our girls rose to the challenge - they refined their ideas, worked out their costings and practised presentations during their PSHEE lessons.
From making Birmingham a greener space to feeding the hungry, one of our teams, the Big Birmingham Sports Day, came up with a variety of ideas that impressed the judges and were awarded a Silver Award reaching the semi-finals that took place at Newman University earlier this year.
Overall we achieved four silver awards and four bronze with commendation awards. We are so proud of the girls for all of their achievements and look forward to seeing what the current Year 8 produce this year when they enter!
