At the end of last week we all enjoyed dressing up for Children in Need Day but we also remembered how lucky we are in so many ways.  We collected £480 to donate to the BBC Children in Need charity.

Girls in the Prep School also prepared for Diwali and the weekend’s celebrations with a range of activities. Year 2 decorated Diwali elephants using lots of colourful resources. In RE they learnt about the story of Rama and Sita and they linked the activity to their Maths work on patterns and sequences.  In Reception girls enjoyed looking at traditional outfits to extend their knowledge of the festival.

Friday 13 November was also World Kindness day which linked well to this week’s assemblies highlighting anti-bullying week.

A co-curricular activity that Year 3 enjoyed this week was the opportunity to create some winter wonderland pictures in one of our ICT suites using 3D paint program.  They enjoyed putting their developing skills to good use and were pleased with the results.

Our week has ended with our Celebration Assembly.  We presented Years 1 and 2 with their Well Done certificates for a range of achievements.  We also presented the prizes for the Independent Learning Challenge set by Madame Hennous to Hana and Avani in Year 2, Kierat in Year 3, Amelia and Annabel in Year 4 and Maryam in Year 5.  We congratulate all entrants on their research projects.

Well done also to Emily Pearson in Year 1 who received her medal for being Star of the Week at Priory Tennis Club prior to lockdown.  We look forward to following Emily’s progress.

Look out next week for Nursery Rhyme News from our youngest girls in Westbourne as we report on their special week joining in with World Nursery Rhyme Week.
