EHS supports Jeans for Genes

Senior School

22 September 2017

This week the Design & Technology Textiles room has been a hub of excitement and activity! Charity reps in Years 8 - 11 have been busily making denim hair scrunchies from recycled jeans, to be sold at the eagerly anticipated Jeans for Genes day on Friday 22 September. On this day, all Senior School students and staff proudly wore their denim jeans, shirts, dresses and dungarees in order to raise money for a worthy cause.

Jeans for Genes is the annual fundraising campaign for Genetic Disorders UK, the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by a genetic disorder. Monies raised on Jeans for Genes Day fund the work of the charity and provide grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders.

The charity reps gladly donated their lunch times to the production of the scrunchies. Their hard work paid off as the items sold out within minutes!

Thank you to everyone for their support.
