Sixth Formers end Autumn Term in style

Sixth Form

11 January 2019

At the end of last term girls in Sixth Form enjoyed their Christmas Ball. The 12 girls sitting on the Sixth Form Events Management Team had been organising their Christmas Party since September, requiring them to demonstrate their skills of delegation, organisation, communication and budget management.

After a successful presentation to Senior Teachers about their ideas for the party, the students then worked tirelessly to organise the event, including making a variety of decorations, contacting local businesses for raffle donations, communicating with catering staff and ordering supplies.

On Wednesday 12 December, the much-anticipated evening finally arrived and after a busy day of dressing the Octagon, the students started to arrive in their cocktail dresses for drinks and photographs.

It was a sea of red, white and gold colours with tables dressed with Christmassy touches as well as a Photobooth with Christmas props, custom made reindeer and festive songs to get them in the mood. The students enjoyed a festive roast dinner with all the trimmings followed by a game of pass the parcel to set the party mood. Chocolate fondue was served to finish the meal with the raffle draw to top off the prize giving. The live band then played throughout the evening and every single student and member of staff were on the dance floor!

All in all, a fantastic night was had by all including the catering staff who joined in with the conga!

Thank you to all that were involved and for everyone that attended. It was a very special evening to finish off the Autumn Term.
