Kindergarten Enjoy 'A' Week

‘A’ week in Kindergarten has seen a particular focus on activities involving ants and apples.
Ant finger prints helped the girls to form the letter a, and they enjoyed listening to the story of The Ant and the Grasshopper as part of their literacy learning. The girls extended their maths skills too making ant shape pictures, repeating apple picture patterns, sorting different fruits and counting the syllables in words.
They also developed their knowledge and understanding of the world with some scientific based studies. These included looking at parts of the ant and the life cycles of both ants and apples.
Other practical activities have included singing the Ants go Marching song, placing ants on the ant hill, tasting and cooking apples and choosing favourite variety.
It has been a busy week which the girls have thoroughly enjoyed.
