GCSE Results 2021: Richly Deserved Results

Senior School

12 August 2021

Edgbaston High School for Girls is pleased to celebrate the achievements of our students as they receive their GCSE results. Against a backdrop of significant disruption caused by the pandemic, they have secured results to be incredibly proud of and should be commended on their achievements.

Of course, education at EHS is about far more than just results and we are equally proud of how our students have managed to maintain their commitment to school life throughout each period of school closure, whether this be in sporting ventures, demonstrating creativity, showing initiative, supporting their fellow students or by simply challenging themselves in new and unexpected ways.

Clare Macro, Headmistress, commented: “We are immensely proud of Year 11 who have navigated the past 18 months with calm and grace. They have worked incredibly hard for their grades during a time of real uncertainty, demonstrating focus and resilience throughout what has been a challenging time for all young people, and they wholeheartedly deserve their success.

“Their hard work has been supplemented by the efforts of dedicated teachers and mighty parental support, and the girls can now go forward onto the next stage of their school careers with confidence. I am delighted that so many of them have decided to continue their educational journey by joining our fantastic Sixth Form, and look forward to welcoming the girls back as Year 12 in September.”

We can be sure that, whatever the next year holds, this year’s cohort is equipped with the confidence and determination to meet the challenges head on.
