Inspiration at the Allotment

Year 5 set off on a crisp Autumn afternoon to walk down to the allotment. The girls chattered excitedly on the path about the task in hand.
They had been writing setting descriptions in Creative Writing and the girls were asked to take photographs of any objects at the allotment that might be suitable for a fairy/tiny person's home. Using Tinkerbell and the Borrowers as inspiration, they thought that buttons could make a path and conkers could make a stool.
Exploring the allotment was great fun and many photographs were taken, which were then narrowed down to the five best to be used on the return to the classroom.
Picollage was the app selected for the job and the girls added their descriptive text and photographs to the grids they selected. Deciding on background colours and font
designs added to the final results which have been proudly displayed in the Year 5 corridor and in English books.
