Call to Action on Holocaust Memorial Day

Sixth Form

28 January 2022

At the start of the week, Year 12 students Sana and Polly delivered a sombre and thought-provoking assembly to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, recognised nationally on January 27th.

Their presentation focused on the unspeakable acts committed in the Holocaust, and its devastating impact, as well as other genocides that have followed in countries across the world. They reflected on what these stories can teach us today and left us all with a powerful message and a clear call to action:

“Today we learn for a purpose, we learn to challenge the present-day injustice and work towards a better future. As a school, we can play our part by educating ourselves, learning about the perspectives of others and moreover having respect for everyone surrounding us. As the leaders of tomorrow, we have the power to challenge what we see in society and stand on the right side of history. Educate, communicate, learn - be the change you want to see.”
