Artefact based learning for classicists

The Classics department is looking forward once again to welcoming PhD students from the University of Birmingham to EHS.
At a special event taking place in March the classical world will come to life through the medium of artefact handling when the UoB students will showcase ancient Greek and Roman objects in our classrooms.
We feel privileged to be offered this opportunity as it enables girls studying a classical subject at GCSE to connect with the Greeks and Romans through objects from their daily lives. This will be beneficial not only to their examinations, but will encourage them to think more widely about the Roman and Greek worlds.
The girls are already enthusiastic about this event and I am sure they will find it a most enlightening experience.
