A rosy glow on Wear it Pink Day

Westbourne | Preparatory

25 October 2019

The Autumn Term includes a number of fundraising events and one of our favourites in Prep is ‘Wear it Pink’ Day in support of the charity of the same name.

Girls, staff and parents from Nursery to Year 6 came to school dressed in as many pink items as they could. They were very successful and the Prep School glowed in a pink tone all day.

We started our day with an assembly for girls in Years 1 - 6 where we looked at the work of the charity and their achievements. There was also a quiz based on the colour, with questions ranging from which football team plays in pink, to which pink and purple book character sits in a tree and the meaning of the phrase ‘in the pink’. Both pupils and teachers extended their general knowledge.

We are grateful to everyone who took part, including parents who attempted to identify Westbourne Staff from their baby photographs, which was not an easy challenge. Our final total was £400; thank you to everyone who helped to make the day such a success.
