Year 9 Tectonics Planetarium Experience
22 November 2024
Year 9 students had the exciting opportunity to take part in a mobile planetarium visit with Science Dome on Monday morning. The session was led by the engaging presenter Ady,
and provided students with the chance to showcase the knowledge they’ve learnt on Tectonics in their Geography lessons so far this term.
Throughout this interactive experience, students discussed the structure of the Earth, the movement of tectonic plates, and the causes of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and
tsunamis. The session concluded with a spine-chilling look at the dangers of supervolcanoes.
Ady was thoroughly impressed by the students' depth of understanding and enthusiasm. Well done to Year 9 for making such a great impression!
