Teamwork and Adventure at Barton Hall
20 June 2025
On Monday 9th June, Year 8 set off for Barton Hall near Torquay in Devon for our Team Building residential. After a long but chatty coach journey, EHS had arrived!
Students took part in many different activities during the few days we were there. It was a busy time full of fun and laughter. So many of girls overcame fears such as heights when abseiling. The “Survivor” proved to be a challenge but with excellent teamwork and cooperation EHS mastered it! Other activities required team work too such as climbing, archery and Axe throwing.
We were placed in different teams which enabled lots of time and opportunities to make new friends. All the PGL instructors were very experienced and great fun. They encouraged us all through each activity and even taught us some of the infamous PGL songs. They were ably assisted by our teachers who also got “stuck in” to all activities on offer, including Mr Smith who loved the trapeze!
The highlight of the trip for many girls was that we were able to swim in the outdoor pool to cool down as the weather was spectacular during our time away. Evenings were fun too, after dinner we took part in different activities such as PGL games and enjoyed all being together at the campfire. There was lots of space to wander and explore and a few visits to buy ice creams!
Girls in the year group said it was one of the best trips we'd ever been on!
Thanks to all the staff who took us on this trip.
