Move On Up! Whole School Induction Days
Preparatory | Senior School | Sixth Form
04 July 2025
Over the past fortnight, we’ve been delighted to welcome new EHS starters to the school, from key entry points such as Reception, Year 7 and Year 12, to those joining in between. These induction days are an important moment in the girls transition to either a new school or year group and are a time to help them find their feet, meet their teachers and peers, and get a flavour of life at EHS before the new academic year begins.
Whether your daughter has been counting down the days with excitement or feeling a little more apprehensive, we recognise how significant these changes can be. Our induction days are therefore carefully designed to support every girl, giving them the chance to explore the school, get stuck into lessons and, of course, have plenty of fun!
From creative classroom sessions in Prep to dance workshops and orienteering challenges in the Senior School, the girls made the most of every opportunity. For the Senior School cohort, the day culminated in a special moment as they received their house badges, a tradition Year 13 house captains proudly describe as the "official" welcome to EHS!
Meanwhile, our incoming Year 12 students, including those moving up from Year 11 and new joiners, enjoyed an action-packed day featuring inflatable football and basketball, karaoke, and exciting Sixth Form taster lessons.
What makes these days truly special, however, is the warm, open-hearted welcome offered by current pupils. We are always impressed by the kindness and generosity of our girls as they include new starters in their friendship groups without hesitation. It is a reminder of the life skills and values we nurture at EHS which we know will stay with them far beyond the school gates.
