Teatime Music Treat

Preparatory

23 February 2024

Many girls in the Prep School have individual Music lessons and relish the opportunity to perform. Our termly Teatime Concerts throughout the year afford many girls just such an opportunity.

On Thursday evening this week we were treated to a musical feast by a selection of our musicians in Years 5 and 6. We regularly hold these events in the Music School but this week we moved to the Octagon which proved to be a great success for our older and more experienced musicians.

27 girls performed on a range of different instruments including violin, guitar, flute, piano and voice with a wide variety of musical styles being represented too. This week we had two duets in addition to our soloists and we were impressed at how well they worked together. Another new addition was Jessica being accompanied by her father and they worked well together too.

The girls all introduced their individual pieces, performed with confidence and bowed with aplomb, being sure to acknowledge their accompanists!

It was a lovely evening and we thank the Music staff and Mr Skilbeck, newly appointed Director of Music, for the hard work in organising the evening.
