Preparing for Senior School

Being part of an all-through school with students from Nursery to Year 13 brings many advantages to the girls. One of these is the all-round preparation for the transition to Senior School.
With the girls having completed examinations for a range of schools last term we can now focus more fully on other preparations. This week, our Year 6 Prep girls enjoyed visits to the Sixth Form Centre to meet some of the senior students. They enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere in the centre at break time and being able to chat and ask questions about life in Senior School. This was an enjoyable, and very valuable experience for the girls as they look ahead to the milestone of moving into secondary school.
They will also have the opportunity to take part in a number of workshops in Senior School and to getting started on rehearsals for their forthcoming drama production.
We are always working to prepare girls for the next step and we organise a range of activities from Year 4 upwards. These range from Year 4 taster lessons in Senior School to Year 6 working with the Sixth Form Art scholars in the Senior School Studio to extend their current topic on portraiture.
