Edgbaston High School Reveals Brand New Look

Parents

21 April 2023

Combining its vision for a modern, purposeful education with its heritage as Birmingham’s oldest independent girls’ school, Edgbaston High School has this week unveiled a bold new visual identity and website.

As well as a striking refresh of the school’s logo, the new contemporary design has been applied to a suite of prospectuses and a user-friendly website showcasing the wide range of academic and co-curricular opportunities on offer.

Synonymous with EHS’s rich history, a laurel motif recurs throughout the designs in a nod to both the school’s coat of arms which features two laurel branches and its former home in a large house called ‘The Laurels’. Laurels also represent success and growth - characteristics which remain central to the ethos of the school.

The new look logo now appears in full colour, echoing EHS’s commitment to a vibrant, rounded and inspiring education. Colour is also used to distinguish between the school’s different departments with the Preparatory School (Westbourne Pre-Prep and Prep), Senior and Sixth Form, each adopting a different colour to create an instant visual key. Incorporating the school’s original coat of arms, the elegant, modern and assured lines reflect the poise and practical, ‘can-do’ culture of the school and its pupils.

Supported by a ‘futures without limits’ strapline, the new branding articulates EHS’s core values and ambition to unlock every girl’s full potential and foster the skills, qualifications and attributes she will need to succeed in tomorrow’s world.

Branding, website and supporting brand assets have been designed by Bristol-based agency Redwing Interactive

Clare Macro, Headmistress, said:

“We are delighted with the bold and vibrant results which reflect our vision for Edgbaston High School. Our students leave us not just with the skills and qualifications they need but also having benefited from the emotional and social support that will take them out into the world with confidence, and we feel our new, visually striking approach illustrates this perfectly.”
