Curiosity Corner

In Westbourne, we continue to encourage and engage our youngest children with their learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
Along with sending Independent Learning challenges home in Kindergarten and Reception, each week we have a Curiosity Corner placed in Westbourne foyer for all to engage with and to extend learning beyond the curriculum.
Currently the focus is on skeletons and our bones. There are interesting facts to read and learn along with X-rays of bones and books to explore which has caused excitement and prompted much discussion.
In previous weeks we have looked at Winnie the Pooh and Paddington Bear, The History of the teddy bear along with learning about octopuses, winter and even how Christmas is celebrated around the world!
