A Week Full of Sport

Preparatory

26 January 2024

At the midpoint in this half term, this week has been jam-packed with exciting and enjoyable sporting opportunities for girls in Years 3 to 6.

The broad spectrum of activities has ranged from the calm of sun salutations in yoga, to competitive fixtures in netball, swimming and even shooting competitions in front of a public audience at City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball double header.

We give congratulations to Year 6 Netball Squad, who had a convincing lead in their second league game of the season against St Mary's. Despite Monday's turbulent wind, slanted rain and the impromptu darkness that descended, it was not enough to dampen the EHS spirit.

On Wednesday, Year 5 Netball Squad 'went to the knuckle' with their 1-point victory at Cotteridge. Their determination shone through as they worked hard against the opposition's strong defence.

Thursday's swimming gala saw Prep Swimming Squad welcome back Balsall Common Primary School. Although EHS did not win on this occasion, we are proud of all the Year 3 to 6 girls who showed enjoyment in their sport and endless support for one another as they competed.

Good luck to Year 5 next week as they welcome Hallfield School in a friendly Netball Fixture at the start of the week.
