Teatime Musical Treat

In the Prep School the girls have their weekly class music lessons to extend their skills, the opportunity to have individual lessons on a wide range of instruments and more than 8 ensemble groups to join, including three choirs.

There are also many regular opportunities to perform together for a variety of audiences with seasonal concerts, whole school concerts with the chance to join Senior School pupils and assembly performances.

The girls are also able to perform individually in our termly Teatime Concerts, the first of which took place this week. On Thursday evening 27 musicians from Years 5 and 6 gathered in the Britten Room to play and sing for the gathered audience of parents, family and friends. There were performances on piano, recorder, guitar, flute and vocal solos in a range of musical styles.

This was a great start to the year of planned music ahead and the audience certainly enjoyed their teatime treat.

Well done to all of the young musicians.
