Joyful Gathering of Voices at Carol Service

On Tuesday, pupils travelled the short distance to St George’s Church for the Senior School’s Carol Service.

It was a true celebration of the festive season brought to us by the Music department and based upon the traditional order of Nine Lessons and Carols.
Pupils from all year groups were part of the service, giving readings which were interspersed with carols such as John Rutter’s Christmas Lullaby and much-loved congregational hymns. Organ music was courtesy of former Music Teacher Gavin Bateman who returned to perform J.S.Bach’s Prelude on “In Dulci Jubilo” BWV 729.

St George’s Church was a beautiful setting for the service and we were delighted to welcome parents to join with pupils and staff, before returning to school for tea and mince pies.

Our thanks go to everyone who donated so generously to our chosen charities in the retiring collections to Birmingham Children’s Hospital and St George’s Church.
