Assessments & Reports

We view assessment as a central and essential part of learning.

Teachers assess girls' work regularly according to specific criteria and during the course of the year work is assessed through tests, class work and homework. Girls take examinations in Maths and English twice during the year. Science is assessed at the end of each topic. Girls are also given opportunities for self-assessment when they are encouraged to reflect on their strengths and weaknesses.

Parents with a daughter in Years 1-6 receive an interim report towards the end of the Autumn Term. Full reports for all girls will be issued towards the end of the summer term and parents are given the opportunity to formally discuss these with class teachers if they wish.

An Information Evening to discuss the year ahead is held early in the Autumn Term for parents of girls in Years 1-6. This is an opportunity for parents to meet the teachers and find out how they can help their daughters.

Parents' Evenings are held prior to the half term holiday breaks in the Autumn and Spring Terms for all Prep parents. Information is sent home before these evenings to arrange individual appointment times.
