Admission to Westbourne
Now accepting registrations for entry in 2020, 2021 and 2022
Nursery (2½ years +)
Nursery is the first point of entry into Edgbaston High School.
Many girls choose to join us in Kindergarten, ahead of the formal start of their schooling in Reception. Entry to Reception in the following year is automatic.
Reception (entry at 4+)
For entry in September 2020, children will have been born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016. Girls attend on a full-time basis and are taught in mixed ability classes.
Applying for a place
We accept early registrations for our Nursery from birth, and early registration to Westbourne in general is advised, particularly at Reception, which is often heavily subscribed.
Our Pre-Admissions Visits are relatively informal and usually take place in small groups. During the hour-long session, a child's engagement, application and social interaction will be observed. Parents remain on site with the Head of Prep School for the duration of the visit.
Parents wishing to apply for a place should complete a Registration Form. A fee of £75 is payable at this stage to cover administration fees and is non-refundable. Please make your cheque payable to 'Edgbaston High School', or speak to the Finance Assistant in the Bursary Office on 0121 454 5831 to make a payment by debit or credit card.
Once the Registration Form has been received by school you will be contacted and a suitable date will be organised for your daughter to join us for an assessment.
