The pastoral care of pupils is of prime importance to us. If girls are to reach their full potential they need to feel secure and happy within the school community. Form teachers and classroom assistants play a very important role in supporting not only academic progress but the development of confident and articulate children. The Head of the Preparatory School greets parents and children personally each morning and this contributes to the strong ‘family’ atmosphere within the Pre-Preparatory Department. A full time Matron is also on site.
Parents are encouraged to play an active part in the life of the school. They are welcomed into the Department on many different occasions – school productions, parents’ evenings and charity days. The close relationship between home and school is a strong feature. We operate on ‘open door’ policy where parents have easy access to staff and Head of the Preparatory School.
