Drama & Theatre Studies

The course emphasis is on drama and theatre studies as a practical, intellectual and artistic subject. It includes practical exploration of plays, written course work, practical performance work and externally examined written papers.

AS Examination

A2 Examination

Unit 3 Exploration of Dramatic Performance
Unit 4 Theatre Text in Context

Entry Requirements:

Students must have a genuine interest in the theatre, as going to the theatre is an important aspect of both the AS and the A2 courses. All students must also be prepared to perform, even thought their major interest may be in design. Working with others in a group is an essential aspect of the course.

Students will be expected to have studied GCSE Drama or have had recent experience of extra-curricular Drama at school or as a member of a Youth Theatre group. It is also expected that students will have achieved an A grade in GCSE English Language.
