The AS Level course in Year 12 provides an introduction to the subject, leading to a more rigorous approach with the A2 course during Year 13.
Many of the topics will be familiar to GCSE students. However, a greater depth of understanding is required as the simple models used at GCSE are developed in more detail.
It is necessary to be competent withbasic calculations, but it is possible for students not taking Mathematics to do well at AS Level. However, the A2 course does require a mathematical approach.
Entry requirements:
Grade A or A* in Chemistry and a B in Mathematics.
