Scholarships

Academic Scholarship
External candidates take examination papers in two subjects which they have chosen for A level study plus an interview. A report is also requested from their present school.

Key dates:
Sixth Form Scholarship test date for external entrants: Saturday 14 January 2012.
Deadline for applications is Saturday 7 January 2012.

Internal candidates are assessed on performance in the December mock GCSE examinations and an interview for those short-listed (some further minor scholarships are sometimes awarded each August, following results).

Music Scholarship
There is a Music Scholarship for a girl wishing to study Advanced Level Music. This may be awarded in full or in part. It may, in certain circumstances, be divided between two candidates. It is awarded following an audition and interview with the Music Department and can be up to the value of 50% of fees.

Arts Scholarship
The Arts Scholarship is awarded to a girl studying the visual, creative or performing arts and is assessed by consideration of a girl's portfolio or practical audition. Applicants will also be required to be interviewed and mock examination results will also be taken into account.

Sports Scholarship
There are two Sport Scholarships available each academic year which can cover up to 50% of fees. To be eligible a girl should have reached county standard or equivalent in at least one sport offered at EHS and be able to demonstrate and communicate strong leadership potential. Suitability is assessed with a practical training session and an interview.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 11 January 2012 from 4.00pm onwards.
