The School runs a flourishing Young Enterprise scheme for girls in the Sixth Form which involves small groups setting up and running their own companies.
Young Enterprise is based on the principal of Learning through Doing. Girls develop entrepreneurial flair, team spirit, leadership qualities and business acumen. In practical terms, company members learn how to manage meetings, plan their time effectively and take control of their finances in pursuit of a profit.
Over the years Edgbaston High School Young Enterprise companies have won a host of awards and produced a reliably healthy return on their share capital. Successful businesses, which have won prizes in local and regional Trade Fairs, have included jewellery design, novelty mugs, decorated mirrors, cook books and candles.
