JOIN US FOR THE 135TH BIRTHDAY LUNCH

The School will host a 135th Anniversary Lunch on Saturday 30 January 2010 to begin a year of celebrations to mark the long and illustrious history of the School, the oldest independent girls' school in Birmingham, and give former pupils the opportunity to explore the Westbourne Road site (which for many Old Girls is still ‘new'!) and the marvellous additions to School life that have been made over the years.

Mementoes of EHS and its history will be available to view and purchase on the day. Please click here for a booking form.

We look forward to seeing you here.

OGA APPOINTS NEW CHAIR OF THE ASSOCIATION

helen_holmesAt the Association's AGM on 18 June 2009, Mrs Anne Howarth (Stirling 1954 - 61), stepped down as Chairman after three very successful years managing the Committee and Association. In this period the Association has developed both its membership and the means by which it communicates with it and made steps forward in including Old Girls of all eras at events in and out of Birmingham. Effusive thanks were given to Mrs Howarth at the AGM for all her efforts though she continues as a Committee member.

Mrs Helen Holmes (Maros 1980 - 85), a Committee member for a number of years and the Editor of 'Laurel Leaves', was appointed the new Chair of the Association at the meeting:

It was with great pleasure that I accepted the position of Chairman of the Old Girls' Association, at the AGM in June. It was a lovely warm evening, and great to see so many faces of Old Girls and teachers alike.

OGA WELCOMES NEW MEMBERS

art_students.thumbThe Association is delighted to welcome the following new Life Members to the OGA following their departure from School in July 2009. Most are now settled in university or on a gap year and we look forward to seeing them at Old Girls events scheduled to take place in Birmingham, London and elsewhere in future months.
