Head's Half Term Message

17 February 2017

Half term is here at last and we look forward to a welcome break from routine.

We have finished the half term with a whole school fundraising event which saw the whole school turn out in red for the Half a Heart charity ‘Little Hearts Matter’. Dr Linda Edwards, Consultant Paediatric Intensivist at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, spoke in senior and prep assembly, inspiring the girls to raise funds and, indeed, to consider medicine as a career. In total, the school has raised an impressive £1,650 for Little Hearts Matter so far.

In the Senior School we also had RAG week this week where each House raises funds for charity with different events on each day, culminating in EHS’s own version of ‘Would I Lie to You?’.

The end of the half term also saw our Senior School production of ‘Lord of the Flies’, a very well-performed classic piece of theatre with an all-female cast.

January and February have been dark and dismal months but we hope that Spring is on its way and that the girls will enjoy a well-earned rest and return ready to go for the half term ahead.
