Half term has arrived and hopefully we will all be able to relax and recuperate after a hectic half term.
The term started with snow and I would like to thank you all for your support in bringing the girls to school through difficult conditions. We will always try to keep the school open where possible but would ask that parents and staff do not take any unnecessary risks when travelling. Clarion Call proved to be very useful at this time and I would urge you to register for this service if you have not already done so.
The work on our new development has continued apace and we can already see the shape of things to come. The builders have a 46 week building programme and have now completed the demolition phase. Over the half term holiday the structure of the new build will begin to appear so the school will look different again when the girls return. The new parking arrangements are working well and I thank you for your co-operation with this.
Our big news this term has been the arrival of our inspection report which I hope that you have received by email or post. We are delighted with the report which we feel is a true reflection of EHS and a very positive tribute to the hard work of pupils and staff. The report is now available on the Independent Schools Inspectorate web site which can be accessed from our web site.
May I remind senior school parents and pupils of our requirements for outdoor wear. Year 11 pupils, only, are allowed to wear their own plain black or navy full length coat. All other year groups should wear the school coat, fleece or waterproof or the sports waterproof. We have set up a uniform group, involving parents, to evaluate our uniform and will be reporting back to you with their findings in the summer term.
Our trips, activities, concerts and productions have been reported on Friday Headlines but I would like to take this opportunity to thank you not only for supporting these events but for transporting your daughters to rehearsals and practices, so allowing these events to flourish.
I wish you all a happy half term and look forward to seeing the girls back in school on Monday 22nd February.
